Ruben Barreras Jr, plays alto/ tenor saxaphone, sings background vocals  and is the leader of Black Pearl Band NM.  Ruben started playing saxophone at the age of ten and he also plays accordion, bass guitar, guitar, trumpet, and keyboard.  Ruben has played with several New Mexico bands such as Los Musicos De Cristo, Expression, The Albuquerque Police Department Band "The Force", and Latin Society.  Ruben's musical influences include his father Ruben Barreras Sr.( Musicos De Cristo),  George Strait, Little Joe, Jimmy Edwards, Kool and the Gang, and KC and the Sunshine Band.

Paul Marquez plays alto, baritone, and tenor saxophone. Paul started playing saxophone in elementary school and was inspired by his father and grandfather. Paul has performed with the bands Los Enamorados, Reunido and Crossroads. Paul’s musical influences are the classic orquesta Tejano bands (The Latin Breed, Tortilla Factory, Sunny Ozuna and The Royal Jesters) and the funk stylings of Tower of Power. Paul has been part of the NM music scene for over three decades.

Ralph Miramontes is our lead vocalist and also sings background. 

Roger Saiz begin playing drums at the age of 15 years old.  He has played with various bands throughout the years.  Those bands include: Purple Haze, Kool Brass, Tiempo, Crossroads, The Duke City Boys, Lumbre and now The Black Pearl Band of New Mexico.  He also had the honor in playing  with Al Muniz, Johnny Hernandez and Jerry Lopez while performing with Crossroads. His musical influences are John David Garibaldi of Tower of Power and Aaron Holler, former drummer for Jay Perez.

Apollo Armendariz plays lead trumpet.

Louie Alarcon plays 2nd trumpet.
